Beginner Guide

Start Anime Galaxies right: the lobby loop, which modes pay first, how to spend gems and DNA, and the five-unit team that clears early Story.

Anime Galaxies — Beginner Guide gameplay

Anime Galaxies throws a lot at you in the first ten minutes: five currencies, a banner, six game modes and a 25-player lobby. This guide is the shortest honest path from “I just installed it” to “I can clear Nightmare without dying”, using only what the game actually tells you.

The first ten minutes

Redeem every code first

Walk to the Codes Fountain in the lobby before you pull anything. The ten live codes are worth roughly 12,000 gems plus enough Trait Crystals and Stat Tokens to fix a starter unit’s stats permanently. Several require level 25 (and INVITED requires level 100), so expect to come back to the fountain later.

Pull the banner, then stop

Your first 10-pull is nearly free and gives you an Epic or better. Do not spend gems chasing a Secret in your first hour — the early gem income is better spent on evolution materials and stat rerolls once you know which unit you are keeping.

Set the accessibility and autoplay switches

Open settings in the lobby and turn on Auto Start, Auto Skip Wave and 2x speed. Speed persists between sessions now, and in multiplayer it becomes a vote. If you are on a phone, enable Disable Screen Shake and Disable Flashing Effects — the Nightmare boss effects are genuinely hard on the eyes.

Which mode to play first

Story, then Nightmare Story

Story gives the steadiest gem trickle and the Nightmare version pays substantially more per first clear. Clear every act on normal once, then start re-running the easiest Nightmare act you can finish reliably.

Challenges on cooldown

Challenges rotate every 15 minutes and pay 15-25 DNA per win, which is the fastest early evolution income. A win locks that mode for 30 minutes, so treat challenges as a snack between story runs rather than a grind.

Leave Endless and Portals alone for now

Endless is a leaderboard mode that assumes a finished team, and portals need Infinity clears first. Both are mid-game content. Raids are worth one attempt early to see the pattern, but you will not clear them without a bleed unit.

The first team to build

One farm, one control, three damage

Every serious Anime Galaxies team is built on the same frame: a farm unit (Speedwagon if you have him), a control unit (Fujitora is the budget pick), and three damage dealers. Damage without farm loses the upgrade race; farm without control loses to shielded waves.

Spend DNA on one unit, not five

DNA is the evolution currency, and it is slow: 2-5 per story win, 15-25 per challenge, 25-40 per raid. Dumping it into four mediocre units leaves you with four mediocre evolutions. Pick the unit you actually place every run and push that one.

Where the money goes

Gems: banner first, then nothing

Gems only buy summons. Spend them on the rotation that has a unit you need, not on the standard pool for dopamine.

Coins: the Gold Shop deal

Speedwagon’s Gold Shop sells 10 DNA for 8,000 coins, always in stock. Once your in-run upgrades are comfortable, converting spare coins into DNA is the most efficient coin sink in the game.

Stat Tokens and Trait Crystals: hoard

Do not reroll a unit you might replace next week. Save tokens and crystals until you have a Secret or a Mythic you are certain about — see the stats and rerolls guide and the traits guide for how the milestones work.

What to do at level 25 and level 100

Level 25 unlocks the newer code batch (GALAXYEVENT, GALAXYGEMS, 2KCCU, 3KCCU) — those capsules and stars are your first realistic shot at the event Secret. Level 100 unlocks INVITED, which is a free Muzan Invitation; hold it until you can actually reach wave 40+ in Endless, or you will waste the prompt.
