Teams in Anime Galaxies are five slots, and the mistake almost everyone makes is filling all five with damage. The mode you are running decides the frame; this page gives you the frames.
The default frame
Farm, control, damage
Every stable comp has:
- A farm unit — Speedwagon is the standard.
- A control unit — Fujitora (budget) or Megumi (Mythic).
- Two or three damage units, at least one of which covers air.
Why farm is not optional
Runs are won on upgrade timing. A team without farm reaches its carries several waves later, and on Nightmare that is the difference between clearing and leaking.
Universe bonuses
Same-series units buff each other
The game groups units by anime universe and rewards stacking them. Community reporting on the two confirmed cases:
- One Piece units on the same team get a damage bonus (reported +10%).
- Tengen raises Demon Slayer unit damage, with a further bump when Muzan is on the team (reported 20% / 30%).
Do not over-stack
A four-piece universe team usually loses to a mixed team with proper roles. Take the bonus when it comes free, do not rebuild your team around it unless you own the full core.
Air coverage
The hidden team-building constraint
Most units only hit ground. Air unlocks at specific points:
- From placement: Goku, Jiren, Fujitora, Kizaru
- At upgrade 6: Stark (community-reported)
- At upgrade 7: Sukuna
- At upgrade 8: Gojo, Cid
A team with no from-placement air unit will lose runs to flying waves regardless of damage.
Shield handling
Three answers, in order of strength
- Roger — attacks ignore shields entirely.
- Jiren — strips shields from several enemies at once (reported five).
- Fujitora / Gojo — break shields as part of their damage pattern.
If you own none of those, portal and challenge waves will stall you.
Three ready-made teams
Budget team (no Secret, no Mythic carry)
Speedwagon (farm) · Fujitora (control + air + shields) · Kizaru (air damage) · Ichigo or Megumi · one banner Legendary. This clears story Nightmare and early challenges.
Mid team (one Secret)
Roger (support aura + shields) · Speedwagon · Gojo or Cid (carry) · Fujitora or Megumi (control) · Jiren (hybrid air). This is the most common “I have one Secret” comp.
Endgame team
Frieza or Goku (carry) · Roger (support) · Muzan (DoT) · Tengen (Demon Slayer buff, if running Muzan) · Speedwagon (farm). Swap the fifth slot for control on portal and raid runs.
Mode-specific swaps
Raids
Bring bleed. Ichigo replaces one damage slot; see the raids guide.
Portals
Bring shield stripping first, damage second. See portals.
Endless
Bring control and sustained damage — the run is a marathon. See Endless.
PvP
No published ruleset yet, so no honest recommendation exists. Do not rebuild your team for it.
